Bits And Bobs #71

Sweater by Wood Wood, Denim Shirt by American Apparel, Jeans by A.P.C., Socks by Uniqlo, Shoes by Dr. Martens, Glasses by Moscot

I got these Dr. Martens a couple of months back and have been wearing them a lot. They can withstand any weather condition and the special sole makes you feel like you are glued to the ground even on wet smooth surfaces. Also got these A.P.C. Petit Standard raw denims a couple months back and while they were very rigid at first, they softened up over time and I also recommend buying one or two sizes down your regular size as they stretch get looser after a while.

  5. Simplicity is the best idea of styling for me and it's great to see that you don't change your style a lot because of this all "weird" outfits all around ;)

  6. do you get your jeans / trousers tailored? what length do you wear? also - from looking at your fits i'm guessing you're not a fan of more than one or two cuffs?

    1. some need tailoring and some don't. these APC ones are tailored because they come in 34-35" length as some people like stacking them on the leg. Acne "Jones" are my favourite bottoms and my first choice if i had to stick with just one pair of jeans, they're my personal favourite when it comes to length and fit (tapered but not too skinny). and yeah, you're right. i don't like cuffing my trousers/jeans much (if at all).

    2. i've been tempted to pick up a pair of acne jeans but have yet to drop the cash. i have some our legacy and apc washed denim which i got tailored a little bit (slightly tapered and taken up in length) and they're my favourite. i saw on tres bien they have the acne jones in but they describe them as high waisted so that originally put me off. maybe i'll look into it. i cuff all my trousers, but non cuffed / a little cuff look so good on your fits. i have really skinny ankles so i usually find if i don't cuff them they don't fit/run well. sucker for symmetry. also - that wood wood knitwear is wonderful. i picked it up in that colour and the blue - pretty much all i wore over winter.

    3. yeah, jeans are a very delicate matter and it's different from person to person as legs and body shapes are very individual...

  7. i was going to mention the length too, looks great with the dms

  8. I really like the fit on your APCs and was thinking of getting the same kind, how much did you size down?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I sized down one size and some size down two sizes. when you try them on they need to be really tight and it should be a little hard to close the buttons as they stretch a lot after some wearing especially in the waist

  9. i definitely love the wash of those jeans. and you are one of few i have seen that can pull off the round glasses. love the mussy hair too

  10. Great outfit hombre!

Did you get the jeans length tailored/shortened (around the hem) by any chance? You seem to be quite a short person, and the absence of any 'breaks' sort of indicates you had them altered.. Correct me if I'm wrong :)

  13. I really love your outfit posts.
Why don't you make a post about the outfit your wear for running (There's only that twitpic, where one cannot see very much).
But thank you however for your wonderful blog.

  14. nice outfit! also agree: acne jones are the best jeans at the moment - especially in "vintage" wash. what size do you wear in the dr. martens "lester" compared to your nike vortex vintage sneaker? also got the vortex vintage and want to order the lester online. cheers, t

  17. I second the request for running pics, sportswear is really underrepresented, and I'm in desperate need of some inspiration.

    Also, nice shoes!

  19. Great entry, Pascal!
I've been reading your blog for quite a while, but this is my first time commenting. Your style really reminds me of my own (not that one should be comparing that kind of thing), but you pull it off a lot better!
Anyway, I have been thinking about getting those Doc's for a while, but i'm really unsure about the fit, as I've never owned a pair of Doc's before. Any tips on those shoes?
Keep up the good work :)

  20. For a while I thought you were quite the intense consumer, even a spoiled brat..constantly buying pieces your wardrobe can't even accommodate enough room for.. But looking through all your outfits.. I then realised you're really quite wise with what you purchase.. It's easy to misunderstand you with all your nice clothes..and a lot of them aren't exactly cheap.. But the great thing is you know what pieces are worth investing in, and you've developed a style that works for you .. It's refreshing to see someone who knows what they're doing with what they wear and spend their money on (wisely).

  26. Are those the dark brown Lester Windsors?
They look black to me, but I couldn't find black ones ANYWHERE. Where did you get them?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. They're the dark brown ones but they actually don't look brown at all in real life, more like a dark grey.

  27. I was wondering about something, what size are your Moscot Lemtosh glasses? I see that they have three sizes available on the website. And one more thing, did you order the frames with prescription glasses, or did you get the precription lenses later? I'm thinking about buying them, but there's little information about size/weight/fitting on the internet...

  29. I recently started wearing Dr Martens brogues and they have changed my life. The sole makes me feel taller but still stuck to the ground no matter the weather and the exterior always seems to look pristine. I don't know what they do to their leather but it's hard as nails! The only downside I found was they took a while to break-in/feel really comfortable. But then once they did...

    1. since mine are made out of canvas I luckily never had a break-in time..
