Summer Days

Streetstyle: Laura

As you know I mostly prefer simple looks with basics that you can combine in many different ways. Notice the little knot she made at the bottom with her t-shirt and her cool sunglasses. Also, I find the minmalistic colour palette very appealing.

I've been searching for a bigger messenger bag quite some time that had no problems with carrying a few cameras and my laptop. It seems I found a pretty solution with the Das Magazin x FREITAG messenger bag, which was inspired by horse messenger bags from the late 19th century. They used vintage unicoloured truck tarpaulins as a fabric, which gives it a modern twist to the old-fashioned design. This limited-edition bag is a collaboration between FREITAG and Das Magazin. FREITAG has been producing bags made out of vintage truck tarpaulins since 1993 and it's all still hand-made in Zurich. Das Magazin is a weekly published magazine that comes along several newspapers in Switzerland. You can exclusively order the bag from the online shop.

Acne Paper No 2

As previously mentioned, I'm a big fan of Acne Paper and when I spotted issue No 2 from Spring 2006 in an online shop, I had to get it immediately. Every issue is about a certain theme and this one is about escapism. It talks about hidden homes or exotic places, where artists seek peace and can be on their own. It has interviews with various people such as Kim Jones, Richard Prince, Hans-Peter Lindstrøm, Ryan McGinley and an article about Grace Jones. In contradiction to the current issue of Acne Paper No 9, they used semi-gloss paper and the design and layout is beautiful as always. This issue used to cost 4 euros back then, what a steal. So now I'm only missing Acne Paper No 1 and 3 to have the complete collection. So if anyone knows where I could get them, please contact me via mail.

I came across Corrado's Flickr stream a couple of weeks ago and was immediately captured by the mood he creates with his Polaroids. Besides his Polaroids, he's also got some photos done with a Holga on his website.

My dear friend bought this lovely sweater in Berlin for me, because unfortunately we don't have any COS store in Switzerland. I told her I needed something rather light coloured. I had been looking for the perfect sweatshirt quite some time – it should have a narrow fit and a very clean look with as little seams as possible. And she brought me the perfect sweatshirt.

While the scenery of the photographs isn't extraordinary, I like the editing and the soft colours which go perfectly with the beautiful styling. It goes without saying that Frida Gustavsson looks lovely in the clothes but she probably could get away with anything anyway.

Night Stories

I took some more pictures of my friend a couple of weeks ago. When we left a party, we decided to take some pictures before heading home, which was around 3 to 5 in the morning. I used a point and shoot film camera and because these alleys were lit very badly, I often didn't even see anything through the viewfinder and had to estimate the framing. But still, I am very pleased to see what you can do with a simple and cheap compact camera.
