I Heart Niederdorf

Swatch asked magazines all around the world to present their favourite neighborhood in a city. Vice asked me if I wanted to do it in Zurich and I gladly said YES!! The team (people from the magazine, film crew and photographer) followed me one day downtown and you can see the result above. It is still super weird seeing myself on video. It is part of a contest called Swatch from the Streets where people can vote for their favourite city. The winning city and magazine will get to throw a big party on behalf of Swatch. People voting can win a trip to the winning city to attend the party or the Swatch New Gent Lacquered. If my city wins, I will make sure to give a private city tour to whoever gets flown in. Follow this link and vote for me, it only takes a few seconds. Once you have logged in, you can vote every day by simply clicking on vote again!

Tran Hin-Phu

As some of you probably know, I am currently studying at the University of Arts in Zurich at the photography department. I just finished my first semester, which included an exhibition of our work at the end of the semester. We get one theme every semester and in the end we have to come up with an idea and produce a work (loosely) based on that theme. This semester's theme was "dream, beauty and fun", which are synonyms for our consumer society. I made a photo series about Swiss fashion designer Tran Hin-Phu and followed him during the preparations for his fashion show at the Fashion Days Zurich 2010 back in November. I filmed a little walkthrough of the exhibition with everyone's work that you can watch here. The video below shows my work self-printed as a zine with the lovely help of Lisa Mettier.

Photobooth

Do you remember my Sunday entry, where I posted pictures of me taken in an old-fashioned photobooth? My friend Steve Ellington filmed me during this session and made a little video about it. I think it turned out pretty cool. Check it out below and see more of his work on his blog.

Marc's Models

I always like to see how models are beyond the editorials or ad campaigns we know them from. That's why I love the following video. It shows some of the best new faces as well as other popular models without much makeup but with all their imperfections. And for once they can show raw emotions and act all silly, which makes them so much more likeable.

Video by Chadwick Tyler for AnOther Magazine and all clothes by Marc by Marc Jacobs

„Since the first Marc by Marc Jacobs show in New York ten years ago, the industry has closely observed the seasonal casting choices made by the house, using them as an early indicator of which faces would dominate the catwalks of the shows to come in London, Milan and Paris. [...] We present this season’s winners.“anothermag.com

Birds of Paradise Video

So here's the video I was talking about in my previous blog entry. I'm sorry about the bad camera work I did in the beginning as I was still figuring out how to take a proper video, but it gets better in the second half.

Sebastian Le Beau

No photographs today but a spontaneous video from a recent evening with my friends. If the video is lagging, you should let it fully load first and then play.
