Miu Miu Fall/Winter 2011 Ad Campaign

I wasn't aware that Miu Miu had such a beautiful ad campaign this season. Hailee Steinfeld was photographed by Bruce Weber and she somehow fits really well despite her young age. It seems to become normal to use very young actresses for ad campaigns (think Marc Jacobs). I don't mind as long as the outcome is as pleasing as this one and it's not sexually offensive.

  1. I agree with you, when I first saw the Miu Miu campaign it was a instant connection. Hailee did a teriffic job for the campaign and it's so playful and especially because she is a young girl makes it so playful. Sometimes I think models look way older than their age, for example Daphne Groeneveld she is 16 and looks much older than her age. But, I love her look and her personality is amazing from what I've seen. I would love it if you checked out my blog, I have interesting fashion posts you might love to read.

  2. The use of the younger actress I think underlines Miu Miu as a younger more acessible Prada. Just a brilliantly shot and thought out campaign.

  3. I agree that this ad campaign is very beautiful. I personally don't have a problem with brands using very young celebrities as the face of their ads as long as it is not inappropriate. However, I feel like for these high end brands with ultra high price points, it may be a bit confusing for that customer to see a 14 year old girl as the face of the brand they associate themselves with.

  5. I think what I love about this campaign is how it captures her natural beauty and shows the clothing and brand, but without forcing her to appear older than she it. It's refreshing to see such a young girl portrayed her own age.

  12. I think the campaign as a whole makes a great playful statement, but to me the first and last picture is just too kid-ish!

Thinking of the pricerange Miu Miu has to offer, kids eating pizza should not be the opinion-leaders.
