Puberty

The moment I saw these new beautiful pictures of Saga Sig I wanted to post them on my blog too. The photographs are inspired by a painting by Edvard Munch called Puberty. Check out her blog for more pictures.

Lanvin for H&M

You have probably all heard the news by now that Alber Elbaz AND Lucas Ossendrijver have both worked with H&M for the next designer collaboration that hits stores on November 23rd but be sure to read the whole entry. I can't tell you how excited I was about this news because they are both among my personal favourite designers. The reason why I am actually writing this blog entry is not really about the news itself but more about the contest that H&M is running for bloggers. By clicking on the Lanvin for H&M banner on the sidebar to the right on this blog, you will be directed to a Facebook page where you can vote for my blog. The winning blog gets a world exclusive trailer of the upcoming Lanvin for H&M collection. I am hoping to get as many votes as possible from my lovely readers (YOU!). Vote here. Are you as excited as me? Who would be your pick for the next designer collaboration?

Alber Elbaz sounds very promising in this video and I hope it is really going to be like this in the end when we see the clothes hitting the H&M stores worldwide.

New York Spring 2011

New York fashion week is already over and there were so many collections I liked this time. I am also glad to see that many of the upcoming young designers like Alexander Wang, Thakoon and Proenza Schouler (just to name a few) are constantly looking for something new in their collections and never stand still. New York is quite exciting in this regards, because there are so many young and promising designers like in no other city. Fashion week moved on to London and I am excited to see what they have in store for us. Do not miss the live stream of the Acne and Burberry womenswear spring 2011 collections. Acne will be streaming live on this website on September 19th at 4.30pm (GMT) and Burberry on the usual link on September 21th at 4pm (GMT). But for now, here are my favourites from New York in alphabetical order and tell me yours in the comments.

Streetstyle Selection #8

I wanted to do a quick roundup of my favourite street style photos from the last couple months before the flood of pictures from all the fashion weeks arrive (ok, they have kind of already started to arrive). It is somehow really hard to find appealing street style shots of men, or is it just me? You can click on the label "Streetstyle Selection" at the bottom of the entry to see all my selections at once (same goes for every other label I use for my blog entries).

1&12 by Style/Clicker, 2 by Hanneli, 3 by Facehunter, 4 by Street Style Aesthetic, 5&6 by All The Pretty Birds, 7 by Stil in Berlin, 8 by Les Mads, 9 by The Sartorialist, 10&11 by CopenhagenStreetStyle

Istanbul Impressions

It took me quite a while to get my films back from the lab and scan them in. All these pictures were taken with either my Leica M6 (black and white) or Contax T2 (colour). Looking at these pictures is a great way of remembering all the nice people I have met. I have already posted all the runway pictures from Istanbul Fashion Week 2010 in a previous blog entry and the following pictures now are some impressions away from the fashion tent.

The Turkish minister of foreign trade welcomed a small group of people to Istanbul.

Elsa of ELLE Belgium having a drink at the Vogue party.

Nesli of Styleseeking Zurich waiting on Istiklal Avenue.

Beautiful apartment building called Galatan Dogan.

Gizem who is an intern at ELLE Turkey and was kind of our helpdesk during our stay.

Adorable Seda from ELLE Turkey and Pelayo from katelovesme.

From second left to right: lovely Isin Gormus, Isik Simsek and Melis Agazat from ELLE Turkey.

Natalia and her brother Pelayo

Seda taking a picture of me with her lomo camera.

Elif and Irem, two sisters who spent my last day in Istanbul with me.

You can find some more impressions on my Visual Diary and the whole set of photographs is also on my Flickr.

HopeHope-Magazine 8 Launch

Sorry for the slow blog updates recently. I just returned from two days in London without any laptop so I wasn't really able to update it. On wednesday, there was the release party of the HopeHope-Magazine issue 8 at the Smart Urban Stage. HopeHope is a Swiss blog about what's happening right now in town but it also give a little insight into the work of Marisa Pichler who runs the blog. As part of the Smart Urban Stage, which takes place in different cities and offers a platform and exhibition place for interesting and upcoming projects, there was the release party for the first-ever printed issue of HopeHope-Magazine. To see more of what happened at the Smart Urban Stage so far, check out their blog. Here are some impressions of the release party.

I promise to post the first batch of photographs from Istanbul on Monday or Tuesday!
